CCD~ Religious Education for Children/Youth

We recognize that parents are the primary religious educators of their children and that our role is one of assisting, not replacing, them in teaching and passing on the Catholic faith to their children.  In cooperation with parents, our religious education program will provide catechetical instruction to encourage growth and knowledge of the faith, with the intended fruits of:

  • Deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ,
  • Full participation in the Sunday Mass and the Sacraments,
  • Appreciation for the Traditions of the Church,
  • Development of strong Catholic moral principles,
  • Integration of faith in their daily lives,
  • Spirit of Community,
  • Living our faith by reaching out in service to others, and
  • Becoming lifelong students who live in the footsteps and teachings of Christ Jesus.

CCD classes are held on Wednesday evenings beginning in mid-September through the first week of May.

At Sacred Heart Church (with St. Augustine students) students in grades K-8 meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  High School students meet from 7:30-8:45 p.m.

At. St. James, students K-12 meet from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Our parents and volunteer catechists are a vital part of our CCD program.  If you are interested in supporting this important ministry or have any questions, please contact Gina Sallman.

In Christ's Peace,

Gina M. Sallman
