Journey to Joy Silent Retreat
How can joy and sorrow go together? In contemplating the seven sorrows of the Mother of Jesus, we can discover what so many Christians over the centuries have found: in Mary’s sorrows we find a model of faith and how to discover happiness in the midst of suffering. Discovering Mary’s method of converting sorrow to joy is an important step taken in the spiritual life. Christ's Peace House of Prayer will be using Fr. Daniel Brandenburg’s book, “Journey to Joy” to find the meaning, peace, and happiness for which we thirst. Retreatants make/renew their consecration to Mary on September 15th, the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. There will be conferences, spiritual direction, Eucharistic Adoration, Mass, Confession, a special Consecration Ceremony and time for private prayer, reflection and walking.

DANIEL OBERREUTER FREE PARISH MISSION CONCERT
Host: St. Monica/St. Elizabeth, Annunciation and St. Columbkille
When: Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 7:00 pm
Where: Valley Heights-Blue Rapids Gymnasium, Blue Rapids, Kansas.
The mission concert is called Come Hold My Son. The concert will take listeners on a journey through the mysteries of the rosary. The mission concert begins fun and upbeat. As it progresses, Daniel reveals his soul through story’s and images that challenge and push each listener to greater conversion of their heart. He emphasizes the need for monthly confession and spending time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. He will share a moving testimony on the rosary and challenges the audience to recommit to Jesus and His Catholic Church. Each listener will be touched on a deep level and he will challenge his audience to “never be afraid to stand up for their Catholic faith.” Please put this date on your calendar and don’t miss this inspiring and life changing Parish Mission Concert!
