Having a hard time with envelopes and consistent giving? Online giving is now up and running!
Hello all,
I can find it hard to keep up with all of the monthly bills and giving opportunities I am committed to. More and more, I depend on automatic payment systems to remember for me.
I have good news for those of you who are like me: along with our new website, we have the ability to do online payments and tithing!
Though I obviously “work for the Church,” I am committed giving about a 1/3 to 1/2 of my annual income back to the parishes and the other charities that I really believe in. I have to admit that without a family of my own and a mortgage to pay, it’s a lot easier for me to be generous with the money that I receive through the generosity of all of you.
If you aren’t already, I would challenge you to make a regular gift to your respective parish so we can not only maintain our properties but invest back into creating environments and opportunities for growing in deeper intimacy with Jesus.
Aside from normal operating and maintenance expenses, here are a few of the potential areas for improvement that I have discussed with the councils of each parish: St. James: Enhancing our social hall with more comfortable chairs and the basement space for our youth by finishing the cement floor and getting comfortable furniture to have a warmer, more inviting space St. Augustine: Making the social hall a more inviting environment for events: new chairs, round tables, warmer lighting, comfortable seating for a small group space, and outdoor furniture and lighting for our patio spaces. Sacred Heart: With the warmer spaces being already created, focusing on events and opportunities to experience deeper healing and transformation: pilgrimages and conferences (especially surrounding the Eucharistic revival this year) and retreats for men, women, families, marriages, and youth.
If you are having a hard time being consistent with weekly or monthly giving or are open to switching to online giving for convenience, I would highly encourage it!
Online giving also makes our income at all three parishes more consistent, despite our fluctuating church attendance due to seasons that are fuller with vacations, farming, or youth activities.
