When we moved to Sabetha in 2014, I knew we would be closer to family. I knew we would be in a smaller community where you would be seen, desire to be known. However, I did not know it would lead me to become closer to God. Through this parish, Sacred Heart, I went from a “cradle Catholic” who was given her religion from birth to someone who grabbed onto faith and identifies happily as a daughter of God. I was seen, known, and most importantly, Loved.
My husband, Rodney, and I have four boys: Xavier, Alden, Isaiah and Felix. They keep us laughing, our brains alert and the home messy. I can take some lessons in trusting Jesus, loving others, joy and perseverance from them. Rodney and I hope to plant the seeds of our faith in each of them, excited to see what grows!
I tend to be the first one to speak, believing in quantity over quality at times. If I’m not talking, I am reading or writing. When I read something that strikes me, or get clarity in prayer, it is hard not to share it with everyone all at once! Expressive might be the most apt description of me to date.
The way to my heart is a good joke and lots of chocolate.
Working Genius: Discernment and Enablement
These are both receptive Geniuses, so I struggle with disrupting, preferring to allow things to move and flow naturally and easily how they are already going: conversation, projects, prayer…It cultivates much more timelessness, but it also doesn’t adhere very well to timeliness!
Charisms: Pastoring, Helps and Knowledge
Patron Saint: St. Mother Theresa. She has been with me since I was a child. When she was alive, I found I was in awe of her. She was already a saint in my eyes and I find she continues to be with me today.
